Calamvale Business Network

A Brief History:

This group was formally known as the Calamvale Development Group.

It was formed in 2002 by the College and Bruce Burns (then LJ Hooker Algester). The group initially worked as a network to support the College.
Local businesses have been generous with their professional and financial support of the College throughout the life of the College.

The group met for breakfast approximately 6 times per year. While a core group have remained constant membership has fluctuated and changed
Quality guest speakers have been a feature of each meeting, representing affordable (inexpensive and time efficient) professional development for business people

The Future:

The Calamvale Business Network will grow to become the peak local business group with strong links to elected representatives, schools and other business bodies.

Testimonials

Hi. I am Warren Black a business coach and mentor. I have lived in the ALGESTER CALAMVALE area for over 30 years. I joined the CBN a few years ago to connect with local businesses and local school communities. The CBN business breakfasts and networking have been very rewarding, helping me to learn and grow. I highly recommend the experience.

The IAME Print Shop has had the wonderful opportunity to be associated with the Calamvale Community Business Network for the past 3 years. The group meets periodically throughout the year for breakfast meetings, these meetings are catered for by the students from the college (always delicious). This allows the students to sharpen their culinary skills and us the business managers & owners to sharpen our business skills by being presented with useful presentations & the opportunity to network with other like-minded businesses.

I have been attending the Calamvale Business breakfasts for 5 years.  In that time I have meet some very interesting Staff Members of the school and also Business people.  I have introduced business people to this group, and know that they have enjoyed the meetings and benefited from the positive business networking.  From a personal perspective, I  know I have been able to successfully promote my business to other members, who in turn have benefited from more exposure through my business.  Everyone is genuinely friendly and supportive to one another.
Networking of like-minded business people and Calamvale Community College can only be a positive to improve everyone's business.  An added incentive for attending is surely the delicious breakfast served and cooked by the students.
