Cheerleading

The College boasts highly successful cheerleading troupes with national championship awards to their credit.  These highly coordinated and athletic students demonstrate the commitment and determination that is highly valued at the College as well as presenting an outstanding performance.

Cheerleading is a dynamic and physical activity that involves elements of dance, stunts (lifts), pyramids, tumbling (gymnastics) and jumps.  Calamvale Community College has been running a successful Cheerleading program since it was first implemented in 2010, and this is reflected in the numerous trophies and awards received at competitions which are on display in the front office, and the amazing progression of athlete skills!  In 2016 alone the Cubs and Cheetahs achieved the following awards:
  • You Hit Zero stamp from safety judges
  • 3rd overall at AASCF Winterfest
  • 2nd Level 1 Primary School National Competition
  • 1st Level 2 Secondary School National Competition

Cheerleading is a sport of progression, which means that students need to demonstrate they are competent at the skills and levels before they can progress to the next level.  At Calamvale we have designed our program so that athletes may develop their skills in a progressive manner as they move through the college, so that they can grow with the program as they grow up!

Any enquiries regarding the Calamvale Cheerleading Program can be directed to our coordinator through the main office.
