Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance System

Dear Parent/Caregiver

Many of you will be aware there is a new Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance system that will commence in Queensland schools in 2019 and will see Year 12 students undertake external exams at the end of 2020. Our current Year 9 students will be the first cohort of students to experience this new process. During the past 18 months our secondary school has engaged in a range of Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) activities in order to help us plan and be prepared for this new process.

We believe an essential part of our planning and preparation is to keep our College families well informed about the introduction of this new process. Consequently, we will be conducting parent information sessions over the upcoming terms to ensure families are in the best position to make informed decisions about their student’s senior education. Please be on the lookout for information relating to these upcoming sessions.

Listed below is a list of resources that will help you to gain a better understanding of the new Senior Assessment and Tertiary Entrance system.
